For most Las Vegans, happy hour is a neighborhood ritual, taking place at a nearby bar or restaurant ofering alluring drink specials and a solid food menu.

But why are we limiting ourselves? Sure, it’s great to score a couple brewskis and a plate of stadium-style nachos for under $10 around the corner from home. But with several resorts—on the Strip, Downtown and across the Valley—packed with restaurants featuring enticing happy-hour specials, why not experience some foodie-focused post-work fun, too?

We recently did just that at Venetian and Palazzo, which collectively are home to more than a dozen happy hour destinations. A few highlights:

DB Brasserie There’s a lot to like about DB’s daily afternoon (3-6 p.m.) and late-night (10 p.m.-close) happy-hour specials, but we’ll take a seat at the restaurant’s bar during Oyster Happy Hour (5-6 p.m.), when West Coast Oysters go for a dollar apiece—a great deal at a quality French restaurant. Order a dozen and enjoy alongside other happy-hour bites, from sharable plates like eggplant and hummus with spiced pita bread ($6) to a delectable BBQ chicken flatbread ($9), a flavor-bomb of tangy barbecue sauce, cool avocado and spicy Serrano peppers. Specialty cocktails—like DB’s Knees ($9), a bright, crisp sipper with New Amsterdam gin, local honey and fresh lemon juice—draft beers ($4) and a selection of wines ($5-$7) round out the DB’s happy-hour experience.

Morels Unwind with a glass of wine paired with gourmet cheese and charcuterie. The French steakhouse rewards repeat winos with a Wine Flight Passport program, in which customers who purchase 10 five- or eight-ounce pours from a select list receive their 11th glass free. And with daily 2-for-1 specials noon-6 p.m. on featured bottled beers and wine selections, it might be easier to become a regular at this upscale Strip-side bistro than you think. Especially after you sample from its 60-plus artisanal and farmhouse cheese selection (pro tip: the bluer, the better).

Table 10 meril’s Grand Canal Shoppes restaurant features a daily afternoon snack menu (3-6 p.m.)—which includes caprese skewers (ripe cherry tomatoes and plump balls of mozzarella with a balsamic glaze) and $1.50 oysters—in addition to daily happy hour drink specials (3-6 p.m., 9 p.m.-close). We also suggest going rogue and ordering off the lunch/dinner menus—specifically the gloriously gluttonous candied bacon ($10) or the blue cheese-topped, port wine sauce-covered, bacon-wrapped China Ranch dates ($7). Mmm. Did we mention happy hour specialty cocktails run $7, with wells priced at $5, wines for $5-$12 and beers under $5? Bam!

Grand Lux Cafe The café’s Grand Happy Hour (Monday-Friday, 4-6:30 p.m.) features a menu of appetizers ($5.50) off the restaurant’s internationally inspired menu, from tasty Asian Nachos (crispy wonton crisps piled high with cheese, chicken, spicy and sweet peanut sauce and wasabi cream) to Double Stuffed Potato Spring Rolls, a fun take on the classic potato skin—alongside $4 beer and $5.50 cocktail specials.

Bouchon The French bistro opens each day for its Oyster Bar from 3-10 p.m., when diners can pair specialty cocktails ($12) with hors d’oeuvres like salmon rillettes ($17.50), which blend fresh and smoked salmon atop crisp toasts.
